TANGA is Canada's hottest Latin dance band, bringing the exciting sounds of salsa dura and Latin jazz to audiences across the West Coast. This high-powered 14 piece salsa orchestra has been packing dance floors since 2005 with their mix of original salsa, popular Latin hits and classic songs. Formed by trumpeter Malcolm Aiken, TANGA is an all-star band of Vancouver's best musicians. Showcasing the next generation of Canadian salseros to concert audiences, dancers, fans and club goers alike, their music fuses a diverse array of musical, ethnic, and cultural influences. In the tradition of great Afro-Cuban orchestras like Irakere, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Afro-Cuban Allstars and the Buena Vista Social Club, they blend smoldering grooves, sizzling horn solos, and fiery vocal harmonies, spicing it all up with a touch of their own West Coast flavour.

In addition to numerous local club and concert performances, Tanga has headlined some of Western Canada's most popular music festivals such as Festival Vancouver (2008), The Harmony Arts Festival (2008), The Whistler Music Festival (2008), and the Sunshine Music Festival (2005), serving up heavy doses of latin fire to thousands of hungry music lovers.

With their latest release, Simmer & Serve, TANGA has brought Vancouver salsa to the world stage. A seasoned mix of original salsa, latin jazz and afro-funk, the band has been heard nation wide on CBC's Tonic, and internationally in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The essence of hard salsa with a uniquely Canadian edge, Tanga's output is some quality West Coast cookin'
