Inspired by the innovative bands of Miles Davis, Chet Baker, and Freddie Hubbard, The Malcolm Aiken Jazz Quartet performs a smooth blend of original compositions and jazz standards with heavy doses of Blues, Bossa Nova and Hard Bop. In the tradition of west coast cool jazz, the ensemble features the warm lyricism of Malcolm's trumpet set in a contemporary guitar, bass and drum format. Performing together for over a decade, the band has been heard at venues all across Metro Vancouver and has recently released their debit album "Paper Star" featuring orginal music and unique interpretations of jazz and pop standards. Available in stores and online!
